About the Fabric
- All skirts are made of cotton sateen, which is a slightly heavier cotton with a satin weave that features a luxurious, silky-smooth feel and subtle sheen
- Skirts in solid colors are made of mercerized combed cotton sateen constructed with biodegradable yarn (see description below). Your skirt will arrive with a high-luster finish, but after the first wash will relax into a buttery soft, matte silk-like texture.
- Skirts made from custom printed fabric are 100% organic cotton sateen
Mercerized cotton: (solid colors only)
- Silk-like Sheen: The rounded fibers reflect light more evenly, giving the material a luxurious gloss
- Enhanced Strength: 20–30% stronger than regular cotton, making it more resistant to tearing, pilling, and fraying
- Vibrant Colors: Absorbs up to 25% more dye. This results in deeper, more saturated colors that resist fading through multiple washes
- Less Shrinkage: Less prone to shrinking (typically less than 3%) and maintains its shape and structure better than untreated cotton
Combed cotton: (solid colors only)
- Superior Softness: By removing short fibers, the resulting fabric has a velvety texture that is ultra-gentle on the skin
- Enhanced Durability: Longer fibers interlock more effectively during spinning, creating a tougher yarn that is resistant to fraying and tearing
