About Your Handmade Item:
Make an entrance at your next Regency ball wearing this luxurious, handmade peau de soie satin Regency era gown.
It features a neckline that is flattering while providing good coverage. The sleeves are puffed to the nines, and the skirt has a princess-like train for sweeping into the ballroom.
It is topped off with a handmade flower corsage attached with a magnet instead of a pin, so you can place it anywhere on the dress without affecting the fabric (see the grid of 4 photos on the left for a few examples of placement).
Fabric
The Regency dress is made of peau de soie ("skin of silk") satin, which is thicker and less shiny than regular satin, with just a tiny hint of sheen with a soft and silky feel.
Colors
This purple Regency dress comes in 31 different colors including blue, pink and white. Simply choose the color from the charts in the photos, then enter it in the box on the right under the size. The color shown in the main photo is "Lilac".
Flower Corsage
The corsage is designed to match the purple dress, however if you select another color, a handmade corsage will be made for you in matching flower colors. You can also let me know if you have a special color palette you are working with and I can match the flowers to your color scheme, for example for a wedding.
Details
The back of the dress fastens with a historically accurate closure, with a fabric lining covering the back opening, secured with hooks and eyes. The entire dress is fully lined.
Length
The length of the dress from the under-bust level at the center front to the hem is 48 inches. To measure, place a tape measure around the line where your bra sits, just under your bust. Then measure down to where you want the hem to fall.
If you want a custom length, just enter the length you want under "Length if Custom". Please note there is an additional $25 charge for custom length.
Processing time
The dress and corsage are completely handmade by me (Kate) in my Virginia studio.
This dress is made to order, please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery. I will always endeavour to get your dress to you as soon as possible.
